You can put your books here when one or more characters are taken or imprissoned or are at war with Nazi Germany. So they mention the Nazis a lot, and different things happen to them that the Nazis.

Okay so here is a book that I really LOVED. It is about a girl named Lida, and her and her sister are taken by the Nazis. Her and her sister are separated and she is brought to a Slave Camp. Later on you will find out what happens to her sister. This Book is called, "Making Bombs For Hitler," by Marsh Skrypuch. If you really want to find out what happened to her sister you can read the book, "Stolen Child," Also by Marsha Skrypuch. That book tells us what happened to her sister Larissa. Though both of them are VERY VERY good! I would recommend them to all of you.

Another good book is "Number the Stars" by Lois Lowry. It is about a Non-Jewish girl who has to help her Jewish friend escape from the Nazis. Her friend must pose as her sister, if you read it you will see why it is such a good disguise. She has to get her friend across the border to Sweden or Switzerland, I forget witch one it was but it was one of those 2. It is packed with suspense and some humor is thrown in there 2. So I also recommend this book to you. You won't want to miss it!

Okay here are about 2 more!
ReplyDeleteFirst one is called, "In My Enemy's House" by Carol Matas. I have found that with Carol Matas's books they are good and well written but in some cases well, she says, "The Germans did...." in stead of, "The Nazis Did," That is fine though if you are German like I am. You may find it hurtful. Like she does say that, normal German children, she makes them become very rude about the Jews. Yet some might have been. But not most. Most were fleeing for there lives, afraid to be hit by a bomb. That though as I have mentioned is about the only thing. The book is very well written. I read it as one of my first books that I have read about World War 2. So about this book.... It is about a 15 year old Jewish girl who must pretend she is Polish, to save her own life. She hides in many "Nazi Houses," and works in them. That is why, it is called, "In my Enemy's House!" It takes you on a ride of adventure and she though dislikes the "Germans" she still has a heart for them. In witch I am grateful to the author or including that. It is a very good book!

Second One:
ReplyDeleteIt is called "Blitz" By Vince Cross.
This is a VERY, VERY well written novel from a British girls perspective on World War 2. At one time in the middle of the war. The Nazi's Luftwaffe witch is the Nazis Air force, Hit England very badly. So the people who lived in that part tried to get there children to a different part of England so that they would be safe/safer. If you do get the book you MUST read the Author Note. It tells you much about World War 2. That time period that they go through is called the "Blitzkrieg" that is German but the English translation is Lightning War. Which technically just means it was a fast though painful time in the War. This book is amazing! It will tell you many things about WW2 that you never even though about! It is awesome!

Oh I remembered another one, " The Hiding Place"
ReplyDeleteHere is a sample:
“I pray that God forgive them...”
Corrie Ten Boom stood naked with her older sister Betsie, watching a concentration camp matron beating a prisoner. “Oh, the poor woman,” Corrie cried. “Yes. May God forgive her,” Betsie replied. And, once again, Corrie realized that it was for the souls of the brutal Nazi guards that her sister prayed.
Both woman had been sent to the camp for helping the Jews. Christ’s Spirit and words were their guide; it was His persecuted people they tried to save—at the risk of their own lives; it was His strength that sustained them through times of profound horror.
Here is a book aglow with the glory of God and the courage of a quiet Christian spinster whose life was transformed by it. A story of Christ’s message and the courage woman who listened and lived to pass it along—with joy and triumph!
Okay Here is Another one:
ReplyDelete"Stolen Child" It is what happened to Larissa, Lida's Sister.
Though If you want to find out what happens you will have to read it! All I can tell you is it is really....... Good! It is a Mystery WW2 Novel.
